![]() Scientific Committee:
Since its foundation, Quality Consult has been active in the international scientific community by participating
in projects promoted by the European Commission, in international conferences, in workshops, etc..
In these activities, has been and is still cooperating with several European experts. Some of these experts
listed below, play a role of scientific advisor in order to supervise the activities of Quality Consult.
Prof. Carmen Càmara is full professor of analytical chemistry at the University Complutense of Madrid. She has co-ordinated the certification of four CRMs and was partner in the certification of about 20 CRMs within the frame of EU Contracts. She acted as co-ordinator of international training programmes as: Quality Assurance for Chemical Analysis (QUACHA), that was organised in five countries of Southern Europe and resulted the publishing of a QA training book, which was translated into 11 official languages of the EU; QUA-NAS - Improving the infrastructure for metrology in chemistry in the candidate new Member States. She has published more than 150 papers and several book chapters. Prof. Peter Fodor is full professor of Analytical Chemistry, as well as the Head of the Applied Chemistry Department at the Corvinus University of Budapest. He has been partner in several EC funded and national projects and has participated in the certification of a number of CRMs. His major research activities are trace element analysis of environmental and food samples, development of speciation and spectroscopic methods/techniques and validation and QC/QA of analytical measurements. He is head of the Food and Agrochemistry Subcommitee of the Hungarian Accreditation Board, Secretary of Eurachem, and among many others, the member of the Spectrochemical Commitee of the Hungarian Academy ofSciences (HAS) and the Analytical Division of the Hungarian Chemical Society. He has published more than 130 papers in international journals and several book chapters. Dr. Kees Kramer is a senior environmental chemist and consultant. He has been involved in environmental monitoring and in the development and production of reference materials. He has co-ordinated 4 BCR-certification campaigns and has organised series of Training Courses (under EC DG science SMT contracts) on the production and use of reference materials: for daily quality control (CREAM), on Practical preparation (TRAP-LRM, TRAP-NAS). He is currently the technical/scientific coordinator of the ‘Virtual Institute for Reference Materials’ (VIRM). He is the Director of MERMAYDE, an SME consultancy, active in the field of advice and services related to environmental (bio)monitoring issues and quality control. He is author or co-author of about 130 scientific papers and reports, and several books. Dr. Roberto Morabito is a senior scientist and project leader at ENEA (Italian Agency for New Technology, Energy and Environment). He has been contracting Professor of “Quality of measurements in the environmental analysis” at several Italian universities. He has co-ordinated the production and certification of two CRMs and was partner in the certification of about 15 CRMs, within the frame of EU Contracts. He has been the chairman of many training courses and workshops in the field of quality control of analytical measurements sponsored by the EC (QUACHA, ‘Needs for infrastructure’ and ‘TRAP-LRM’ projects) and others. He was the organizer and the chairman of international and national interlaboratories campaigns within the frame of EU and Italian Ministry for Research contracts. He is author or co-author of more than 100 scientific papers in international journals and several book chapters and he has lectured in more than 20 International Conferences and Workshops as invited speaker. Dr. Herbert Muntau is a senior scientist and consultant. He worked for more than 30 years at the JointResearchCenter in Ispra was responsible for the production of environmental, biological and food reference materials, including some 70 certified reference materials; and the organisation of complex interlaboratory collaborative studies in the field of analytical quality control. He owns long-time experience in the organisation of field exercises for the assessment of sampling errors and the quantification of associated uncertainties, the design and supervision of environmental pollution studies. He organises international and national courses and lectures on internal and external laboratory quality control and the production and use of reference materials; and is author and editor of numerous books and reports on related subjects. Prof. Gemma Rauret is full professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Barcelona. She has co-ordinated the certification of four CRMs and was partner in the certification of several CRMs within the frame of EU Contracts. She has co-ordinated and has participated in many other projects, both international and national. An independent SME has been established for the production of reference materials under her scientific supervision. She has published more than 200 papers in international journals and several book chapters. Dr. Nikos Thomaidis is lecturer of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Athens. He has experience on the accreditation of laboratories (EN ISO/IEC 17025) and he is a technical assessor of the Hellenic Accreditation Board (ESYD) and a trainer of assessors for laboratory accreditation. He lectures at national courses on laboratory accreditation, measurement uncertainty and internal and external laboratory quality control. He has participated in the certification of two CRMs (trace elements in bovine muscle and in honey) and many proficiency tests. He has participated in many several international and national projects. He has published more than 35 papers in international journals and three books (in Greek), one being on ISO/IEC 17025 and laboratory accreditation. In addition , Quality Consult has worked with the following European and Extra-European institutions: Environmental Institute - Slovakia ICARUS Srl - Italy Institute Pasteur de Lille - France IWW Water Center - Germany JRC in Geel - Belgium LGC Standards - Great Britain Mediterranean Network of Basin Organizations (MENBO) - Spain National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) - India The Energy Research Institute (TERI) - India Ain Shams University in Cairo - Egypt University of Malta - Malta University of Thessaloniki - Greece University of Warsaw - Poland WISE-RTD Association - Belgium Xpro Consulting - Cyprus |
