Quality Consult Presentation

Quality Consult was established in 2002 as non-profit association and became a limited liability company in July 2009. The previous President of non-profit association, Dr. Angelo Bortoli, a chemist with several years of experience in analytical data quality, has assumed the current position of Chief Executive.

Quality Consult activities are focused on development and implementation of tools for assessing and improving the quality of analytical measurements, also finalized to guarantee the environmental quality.

Quality Consult has been and is participating in projects funded by European Commission on environmental issues and acts, since 2004, as Proficiency Testing (PT) provider offering to private and public analytical laboratories a wide range of services for the insurance of internal and external quality control; these services are included in the so called QC Programme.

From January 2008, Quality Consult is the owner of the Institute for Virtual Reference Materials (VIRM). The VIRM is a source of information on reference materials produced throughout the world. Aim of the Virtual Institute for Reference Materials is to make easier the sharing of information, knowledge, advice and support in the recruitment and use of reference materials and related themes, providing advanced online search engine, regularly updated.

Quality Consult is a founding member of the PT-WFD Network "Proficiency Testing - Water Focused Determinands" to support the implementation of the Water Framework Directive in EU Member States.The Network “PT-WFD” was officially founded on October 8 th, 2008 with signing the technical agreement document by Quality Consult as well as by AQS-BW (DE), BIPEA (FR), Institute Pasteur de Lille (FR), IWW Water Centre (DE), LGC Standards (UK), National Institute of Chemistry (SI), QUASIMEME (NL). Throughout these years also AGLAE (FR), IELAB (ES), NIVA (NO), SYKE (FI), Tallin Univ. of Technology (ET), Institut fur Hygiene und Umwelt (DE) have asked to join the Network PT-WFD. Network activities are supervised by external experts from AQUAREF (FR), ENEA (IT), IFA Tulln (AT), IRMM (EC), RWS (NL).

The activities of the company are carried out by a group of highly qualified young professionals specialized in analytical quality control. Dr. Saumel Perez Santana is the technical manager for the QC Programme, Dr. Ildiko Ipoly is the technical manager for projects promoted by the European Commission, Dr. Silvia Maisano is responsible for administration. Quality Consult is also supported by an international scientific committee composed of chemists with decades of experience in various fields of analytical chemistry.
