This year, Quality Consult introduces some news in the 2012 QC Programme in order to supply with a larger choice and different analytical situations in which laboratories can evaluate their performances.
In QC Proficiency Testing on Drinking Water for trace element determination (12DW1) and major component determination (12DW2), during the 2nd Campaign, will be used soft water, while in the corresponding QC Proficiency Testing of 6th Campaign (respectively 12DW7 and 12DW8) will be used hard water.
In Drinking Water, Quality Consult gives also the possibility to participant laboratories to evaluate their analytical performance with different concentrations for the determination of analytes. The QC Proficiency testing 12DW7 and 12DW8 (6th Campaign) have concentrations, approximately an order of magnitude, higher than those proposed in QC Proficiency Testing 12DW1 and 12DW2 (2nd Campaign).
In addition, the QC Proficiency Testing, of 2nd Campaign (12DW3, 12DW4, 12DW5 and 12DW6) and of 5th Campaign (12GW4), for the determination of organic compounds include two concentration levels (Level I and Level II).
In some 2012 QC Proficiency Testing there are changes in the list of analytes to be determined, in order to provide proficiency testing schemes that meet, even more, the requirements stated by the monitoring environmental rules (D.Lgs 31/2001, D.Lgs 152/2006, D.Lgs 30/2009 of Italian legislation; Water Framework Directive 60/2000, etc.) and specific needs of groups of laboratories. A significant modification concerns the QC Proficiency Testing 12WW2, with the introduction of two new analytes: Kjeldahl Nitrogen, according to the rule EN 25663:1993 (ISO 5663:1984) or equivalents (e.g.: UNI EN 25663:1995) and Total Nitrogen according to the rule APAT CNR IRSA 4060 Man 29 2003 or equivalents.
